Ban the Bulb Yarra Ranges is now complete with about 200 people turning up to celebrate the project's success at a barbeque held in late July.
As a result of this project:
-
Approx 48,000 bulbs installed in almost 3,000 homes;
-
The project has raised approx $120,000 for the local Country Fire Authority brigades;
-
On average, 16 bulbs were installed per home;
-
Average household electricity bill savings will be over $1,500, with total community savings at $4.6m; and
-
200 Country Fire Authority volunteers were trained.

Yarra Valley Community Bank® Branches will offer local residents the chance to have free energy-efficient light bulbs installed in their home, also free of charge.
