From October 2006 to May 2007, close to 6000 households participated in a successful light bulb installation program run by LESS and EnergyAustralia in parts of the Leichhardt and Canada Bay Council areas in NSW. Over 80,000 inefficient bulbs were replaced with energy-saving ones. Collectively, these communities will help*:
- Save $6 million dollars on their energy bills.
- Prevent over 60,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere - equivalent to taking over 1400 cars off the road forever.
- Make energy savings equivalent to running up to 25 standard wind turbines for ten years.

Since World Environment Day on 5 June 2007, our small professional team of installers has installed an additional 100,000 energy-saving bulbs in the Inner West of Sydney, more than doubling the benefits above to the 12,000 businesses and households who have joined this initiative over the course of the program.
