How it works
Solar power uses the light energy of the sun to create electricity which can be used to power your home. Solar power (or photovoltaic power cells - PV for short) works when sunlight hits the solar panels installed on your roof and the cells release direct current (DC) electricity (the same as in your car). The direct current passes through an inverter that changes it into alternating current (AC) for use in your home.
Virtually any electric power need can be met with an appropriately designed PV system. This includes power for lighting, refrigeration, applicances etc.
